Garages can quickly become the landing spot for items with no home. But it’s possible to dig out from the toys, the gear and the Costco backstock to create a functional space for everything - including your car!
This project had two big factors: we needed to capitalize on the garage’s unused vertical space, and the client did an amazing job of decluttering items from around the house that were taking up much needed garage real estate. We then took advantage of a well-timed neighborhood garage sale! The result - more visibility, less clutter, and more calm in the first space you see as you enter the home every day. This client has since said that the garage is her new happy place!

A lot of items found their way to the garage, but had other spaces to call home.

Some items, like this disassembled bed, were ready to move on to their next home!

Winter seasonal gear was ready to move up to the higher storage for a few months.

Some big toys that had outlived their usefulness were taking up valuable space.

And the biggest need was vertical storage.

We built these shelves to fit the space, and they were a game changer!

We invested in a few racks and hooks to corral all the winter gear on the wall for easy access.

We purchased a few clear bins to wrangle supplies.

And we incorporated awesome things the client already owned.

We created a pool corner with lots of cup hooks for bags, goggles, and towels.

And we got the bikes off the ground for safe storage.

The end result is a funtional, breathable space.
